Easily retarget and transfer animations to Polygon/Synty characters from Mixamo, Unreal Engine Mannequin UE4 or UE5.
I recently found this great ‘out the box’ retargeting and export animation asset pack from Mocap Central. It saves any time having to manually set up bones, IK rigs and retargeting – as everything has already been set up. It’s been set up to transfer animations to Polygon / Synty characters, but can also be used to transfer animations between the different skeletons in the pack.
So, for example if you have some animation packs already retargeted or compatible with the UE5 (or UE4) mannequin, they will transfer over to the Polygon character and vice-versa. So it provides more options then just using Mixamo animations.
The new(ish) compatible skeleton feature does really help make the hole process quicker as well. I have used this pack myself and it’s very handy, taking all the manual tedious work out of the process. Hopefully the creator will add a few more skeletons in the future :)
