Unreal Engine Blueprint – Add Vs Set Nodes – A Concise Overview

This video provides a high level overview of the Add and Set nodes in Blueprint in Unreal Engine. In the video I use the relative rotation node for an example how the differences between add and set. The add and set nodes are relatively simple to understand and although can be used for some similar actions, they do perform very different tasks. In this video I provide a high summary with some examples.

Summary Notes:

Add Nodes (e.g., Add Relative Rotation, Add Actor World Offset)

Applies an offset to the current value.

Accumulative – Adds to the existing value.

Set Nodes (e.g., Set Relative Rotation, Set Actor Location)

Overwrites the current value.

Replaces the existing value entirely.
